This one hour class is designed for those with MS who are either independently mobile or who require the use of a wheelchair. The aim of the class is to improve core strength, balance and posture through both seated and standing poses. Participants may choose to do poses on a mat, seated on a chair or a combination of both. Gentle stretching, seated twists and moving joints through safe range of motion aim to keep the body limber and maintain functional abilities. A focus on expanding and calming breath encourages participants to maintain good body alignment as they move through the yoga poses. There is a guided full body relaxation at the end of each class.

Trauma Yoga Training @ Studio B Yoga
This weekend training will give you the knowledge, skills, and practice you need to confidently share trauma sensitive yoga and mindfulness practices with those you serve.
For yoga teachers – learn more about trauma and and how you can make simple adaptions to your offering to make it more accessible to those living with a trauma or stress related disorder.
For therapists, mental health professionals, and trauma caregivers. You do not need to be a yoga teacher to share mindful movement and breath with your clients. Learn a somatic modality that you can use to help clients learn to self-regulate and tolerate present moment experience.
- Understand the fundamental principles of yoga and appreciate why yoga is so well suited to address the trauma condition.
- Learn a trauma sensitive yoga framework that can easily be adapted to help you meet the individual needs of the people you work with.
- Learn and practice a trauma sensitive approach to any yoga pose or movement.
- Learn and practice a simple sequence of poses that you can share with your clients.
- Understand what makes a yoga session trauma sensitive and learn and practice how to conduct a safe offering.
- Experience, learn, and practice a number of other techniques you can employ to help clients self-regulate, including Yoga Nidra, a guided relaxation and meditation technique.
- Understand the rationale for, and an approach to, forming and working with small groups.

Brendon Abram, RYT500, EYT 200 is certified by the Trauma Centre in Boston and trained by the Veterans Yoga Project to teach trauma sensitive yoga to those living with trauma related disorders. He was a member of a joint Queens University/Royal Military College of Canada study team that studied the effects that yoga may have on men and women recovering from exposure to operational trauma. As an associate at Trentview Counselling he worked with a clinical psychologist for five years to help veterans with trauma related conditions learn how to regulate their mood through yoga and mindfulness practices. Brendon is also the author of “Teaching Trauma-Sensitive Yoga – A Practical Guide” published by North Atlantic Books and distributed by Penguin Random House. He currently provides trauma sensitive yoga and mindfulness consultation and services to Highland Shore’s Children’s Aid, the Belleville Sexual Assault Centre, the Belleville City Police and the Real You, a private organization based in Ottawa that provides holistic health services to Ottawa Police Services and other first responders. He teaches two public trauma sensitive yoga classes each week at Get Yoga in Trenton, Ontario.
In this class we’ll uncover obstructions to developing a meditation practice, explore the theory of mind
from a variety of wisdom traditions and contrast that with some findings of modern neuroscience. Then, we’ll
practice a variety of short meditations.

Our 19 day 200 hour yoga teacher training intensive is designed to prepare students to practice and teach a simple, effective alignment-based yoga sequence accessible to beginners and challenging enough for more advanced students.
Thai Yoga massage and manual therapy allow graduates to work effectively with private clients or in a public class setting.
We focus on simple poses taught with clarity and a deep understanding of healthy biomechanics, as well as an introduction to restorative and yin yoga. Alignment-based yoga simply means “actually doing the pose”.
Certification with Open Source Yoga is based on illustrating competency in teaching the 40 minute Fundamentals sequence, and a written exam.
The training is registered with Yoga Alliance.
Open Source – efficient training
If you are interested in developing a regular self-practice appropriate to your needs and desires, and then learn to teach a safe and effective practice, this course is designed to get you there relatively quickly and with confidence.
Students are also welcome to take the training simply to deepen their understanding of yoga practice.

About Daniel Clement
I have trained over 950 teachers since 2007 in China, Japan and British Columbia. I’ve enjoyed physical yoga practice and teaching since the 1990‘s, and owned and operated both a home yoga studio and a larger commercial studio. In 2006 I wrote the course manual “Teaching Hatha Yoga” that is used by many studios as a foundation for their teacher trainings, and in 2016 wrote “Knead Yoga” – the course manual for private client work. Early in 2017 I completed “Open Source Yoga – Practice and Teaching” – the new manual for the 200hr course, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of offering teacher training.
My approach to yoga is evidence-based. Yoga practice can be adapted to the individual, and is best taught clearly and simply. I approach life and philosophy from a non-theistic viewpoint. Yoga to me holds the potential for increased sensitivity and appreciation for what is, right here in the lives we are living.
